At 5:00 am, we pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco to begin our journey. We'll then get in our own car and head to the Lares thermal springs. When we get there, you can take a bath in the therapeutic hot springs. Additionally, there will be a quick breakfast before the walk begins.
After breakfast, we will get ready and start the renowned Lares Trek. We will hike through the "Potato Valley," a region renowned for its abundant native potato fields, on the first leg of the journey. We will pause for lunch in Kiswarani town after a two-hour hike.
We will take part in a customary ritual honoring llamas, native pack animals of the Andes mountains, after lunch. The Kiswarani waterfalls will then be reached after a short trek. We'll set our camp close by after admiring this location's natural splendor. We'll eat a delicious dinner, and then we will rest for the next day.
After breakfast, we'll depart from our campground close to Kiswarani. We will then trek to the Condor Mountain Pass, which is located at 4,680 meters (15,354 feet) above sea level, and it is the highest point of the Lares Trek. The "El Mirador" viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views of the Lares Valley, will be our next stop after we have passed this point.
We will have a lunch halt close to "El Mirador." We'll then hike to Cancha Cancha town, pitch our tents, eat dinner, and then spend the rest of the evening unwinding and getting ready for the next day.
We will depart our campsite after breakfast. After that, we'll hike to Huaran town and have lunch there. After that, we will get in our personal car and travel to the Maras Salt Mines. This area is well known for its large number of pink salt ponds.
Then, we will go to Ollantaytambo town where we will eat dinner at a local restaurant after touring the Maras Salt Mines. Afterwards, we will board a train to the town of Aguas Calientes, which serves as the gateway to Machu Picchu.
The journey by rail lasts about two hours. The Urubamba River, the primary water source for the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is traced by the train tracks. Our team will take you to your hotel room once we get to Aguas Calientes. You will then have time to go exploring around the town and see its well-known hot springs.
We will go to the fabled Inca stronghold of Machu Picchu on this day. After eating breakfast, we will check out of the motel. After that, a bus will take us to the citadel. We will finally enter Machu Picchu after passing the security checks.
After that, a thorough guided tour of the archaeological site will be given to you. You will see the Intihuatana, the Main Temple, and the Temple of the Three Windows, among other Inca wonders. We will direct you to the appropriate trailhead if you purchased a ticket for Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain.
Then, we will take a bus to return to Aguas Calientes after touring Machu Picchu. When you get there, you can stop for lunch at a nearby eatery. The price of the tour does not include the cost of the meal. We will take a train to head back to Ollantaytambo later in the afternoon.
Our crew will bring you back to your accommodation in Cusco city after you arrive at Ollantaytambo. We plan to get there around 10:00 p.m.
