We will leave our hotel at 6:00 AM. and drive to Tinki, a traditional Andean village. We will stretch our legs and observe local clothing, customs, and small markets. Then we will continue one hour on dirt roads to Upispampa, the trailhead.
We will enjoy a hearty Andean breakfast and meet our muleteers and support team. We will begin the trek through remote villages, small streams, and rolling meadows. We will arrive at Upis camp in cozy private cabins.
In the afternoon, we may visit Laguna Upis, a turquoise lake at the foot of Ausangate Mountain Peru. We will return for tea and a warm dinner under the stars.
We will start early with coca tea and breakfast. We will climb to Paso Arapa (4,958 meters above sea level ) and descend to Laguna Pucacocha for lunch. In the afternoon, we will hike to Paso Pucacocha (5,000 meters above sea level) and enjoy stunning views of glaciers and multicolored lakes. We will descend to Ananta camp, setting up tents for the night.
We will wake at 4:00 AM and eat breakfast before ascending Paso Surini (5,051 meters above sea level). From there, we will see the first sunrise glimmers on Montaña Arcoíris. We will reach the mountain base early to avoid crowds and take photographs. Afterward, we will descend to Alqatari, passing Andean communities and spotting free-roaming llamas and alpacas.
We will cross the highest point of the trek, Paso Palomani 5,300 meters above sea level, at the base of Ausangate Mountain Peru. We will marvel at canyons, glaciers, and snow-capped peaks. We will descend to Huchuy Phinaya for lunch, then continue to Surapampa camp. The site features rocky formations and is ideal for spotting wild chinchillas basking in the sun.
We will begin with a three-hour hike to Paso Jampa (4,900 meters above sea level) to see the famous Seven Lakes of Ausangate Peru. We will descend to Pacchanta for a farewell lunch and a relaxing soak in natural hot springs. Afterward, we will board our private transport back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 PM.
