Qeswachaka Bridge

Overview

Qeswachaka is a very interesting full-day tour, join us on this amazing experience. Visit and cross by the last Inca hanging Bridge, which is still in use today by the local people. The Bridge is restored by the locals every year on June, it takes at least 3 days to be ready for use. As our ancestors the Incas, the locals use only natural grass from the highlands and lots of hands to do it.

Full Day Qeswachaka Bridge

Qeswachaka Bridge Tour Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel, we will drive to the south of Cusco (4:30 am). After 1 hour and 40 minutes, we get to Cusipata Town. Here you take a delicious Breakfast and continue to Quehue โ€“ province of Canas for about 1 more hour and a half.
After 3 hours of travel by car, we start to explore the last Quechua Bridge (Qeswachaka) the Inca Bridge was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Qeswachaka Bridge is built with Qoya fiber, material that is obtained from an autochthonous plant. The bridge is renewed by a nice ritual performed by local communities. However, before it was completely built with Ichu (an altiplรกnico grass, and trunks tied to a stone structure).
At the site we will have the explanations from our expert guide, who will talk about the history, traditions, process to build the bridge, and something more about the Inca culture.
Afterwards, we return to the town of Cusipata for lunch. On the way, we will stop to appreciate 4 lagoons. After lunch, we will return to Cusco and drop off at your Hotel (5:00pm)
